Lawrence Tech University in Southfield Michigan will be offering a 14 week
course entitled Autonomous Robotics for Education. (Course number: MET 5263)
This is a course of LTU’s MET (Master of Educational Technology) program.
The course will introduce concepts involved in autonomous robotics and how to
use robotics education technology to teach mathematics, physics, science, and
computer science. It will provide hands-on experience in designing and
programming Lego NXT. The class begins on Tuesday Sep. 12, 2006,
7:20pm-9:10pm (On campus). For additional information on this course, please
visit the following URL: http://www.robofest.net/academy/met5263.htm

(4) Robofest Seeking Site Hosts for 2007 Competition Season
Robofest is currently seeking site hosts for the 2007 Competition Season.
Qualifying Competition Sites are needed in March and April of 2007. Top
teams from each site will qualify to move on to compete at the World Robofest
Championships, which will be held on the campus of LTU on Saturday, April 28,
2007. Robofest plans to have all 2007 Sites confirmed by September 30, 2006.
Interested individuals, organizations, or schools should contact Lori
Birman for additional 2007 Site Hosting Information, LBirman at LTU.edu or
248-204-3566.
(5) Robofest is Seeking Sponsors for 2007 Competition
In an effort to keep Robofest a low-cost affordable contest for everyone, we
are seeking sponsors for the 2007 contest. If you or your organization are
interested in helping to support the important work of Robofest, please
contact Lori Birman, LBirman at LTU.edu. Robofest appreciates any type of
support, big or small. Robofest accepts both cash contributions and in-kind
services donations. Donations such as robot kits, printing, signs,
promotion, etc. are greatly appreciated. Please contact us if you are able
to support Robofest in any way. Robofest plans to print the promotional
posters in December; so in order to put your company or organization logo on
the poster, we will need sponsorship commitments by the end of October. If a
sponsorship pledge is decided before November 4th, your sponsorship will be
recognized in various ways during the first Thanksgiving RoboParade, too.
